Vision:

To develop essential skills, attitiudes and aptitudes via challenging outdoor learning experiences to prepare young people for learning, employment and life.

Mission:

  • To raise attainment and expectation of learners.
  • To ensure all learning is challenging, meaningful and transferable.
  • To promote, encourage and facilitate learning for life.
  • To offer alternative curriculum programmes supported by accredited courses enabling learners to gain nationally recognised qualifications.
  • To support schools in developing positive learning cultures across the whole school for all learners; adults and young people.

Belief and Phiosophy

All CTTE activities place learners beyond individual and collective ‘comfort zones’ into the ‘stretch zone.’ Once there meaningful, lifelong learning takes place. We have developed our own ‘core values’ of an effective team; effective communication, trust, unity, work ethic, creativity, spirit, resolution, progression. Throughout each activity facilitators will develop all or specific ‘core values’ so that learners will be shown, quite explicitly, that when the team and/or individual put the ‘core values’ in place they will improve performance time and time again. Now that the learner has knowledge of the importance of this approach, and more importantly understand the practical steps to do so they then can make an informed choice – their choice – they have ownership of this choice!

If learners choose to use and develop the ‘core values’ they will improve performance in all that they do. During review and feedback facilitators will make it quite clear that these skills are transferable to all areas of life. Success built upon success will promote an upward spiral of improvement and achievement beneficial to each participant and very powerful for promoting and maintaining positive change to young lives!

 
Team Development - challenge learners to develop 'core values' of effective team by innovative, fun and challenging problem solving tasks. High Ropes - Challenge learners to step out of their 'comfort zone'and perform a range of exhilerating activity at height. Woodland - Engage learners in a range of woodland activities to promote self-discovery in a delightful, calm and therapeutic setting.
