An innovative and modern safety system means that participants are always clipped on under supervision, as they climb, leap, jump and traverse. at up to 40ft off the  floor.  Our highly experienced instructors take great pride in facilitating your safety, enjoyment and learning, providing you with a fantastic experience that you will remember for years to come.

What are the Challenges?
Test your nerve and skill, as a team or individual, whilst having a huge amount of fun,  experience a huge sense of achievement by completing a selection or all of the following challenges:

 
Aerial Ropes Adventure - climbs, zipwire, fan descender, totem poles, jacob's ladder, aerial traverse, high all-aboard, high see-saw, crate-stack. Aerial Traverse - The aim of this challenge is to negotiate obstacles of varying difficulty around our ropes course, up to 35ft high, whilst permanently clipped on to a safety rail (so 100% safe!). An awesome aerial adventure trail that will really test your nerve. Totem Poles - Each totem pole has graded routes so you can experience the excitement and adrenalin rush that attracts people to the popular sport of climbing. Do you have what it takes to reach the summits and stand on top? Jacob's Ladder - A physical challenge, guaranteed to bring out the best in you and your team. Climb a giant rope ladder with your fellow group members. The higher that you get the further apart the rungs become. Guaranteed to test even the most capable team. Leap of Faith - Climb to the top of the pole (it does wobble!), stand on the small platform, have a little knee tremble and leap to grab the trapeze bar suspended in front of you. Why not take somebody with you and do the Double Leap of Faith? High All-Aboard - Get your team to climb the pole and stand together on a high 2ft square platform. This challenge requires balance, courage and team support. Zip Wire - The zip wire is always a crowd pleaser and our versions will definitely get you focussed. The line goes from the top platform and is fast and steep - you are clipped onto the trolley so don't worry about your safety. High Seesaw - You and your team have to climb a pole and balance on a seesaw with a difference (it’s 12 metres high). Superb teamwork, balance, trust and excellent communication are required to achieve success. PowerFan Descender - Originally developed for the military to simulate parachute landings, the fan lowers you to the ground at a controlled rate but it’s easy to forget this when you are standing on the 40ft platform and preparing to take that step! Climbing Walls - Loads of routes of various difficulties so that everyone is able to achieve, whatever their ability. Best of all you can also learn belay skills so that you can support others within your team. Gladiator Challenge - A vertical assault course, 40 ft high which will test your individual skill and courage. Sandwell Valley Adventure Centre - high aerial traverse, junior aerial traverse, high all-aboard, gladiator challenge, jacob's ladder, powerfan descender, zipwire, climbs.
 

Mel, Just to say thank you for an absolutely fabulous day. It is hard to motivate staff on any first day back after a holiday, but the six week break is the hardest, but all your staff were fantastic. So many staff commented that they found out so much about some staff that they had never even spoken to before and the atmosphere generally in school has benefited from the day.We will definitely use Closer To The Edge again, for the children and the staff.
