It was a great day and the closer to the edge staff were motivational, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but also non obtrusive and let us control our day to a point. It was a good thing they decided not to preach about team work and left the exercises to draw there own conclusions and portray a message.
It will be tough for us to match up to the day with something different!
......I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I found the staff at the centre to be very helpful, persuasive and encouraging in just the right measures, without appearing pushy.
......I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a fantastic day and I would like to do it again….. I am aching like god knows what but is was really good, the chaps were really lovely and the food was nice.
Overall it was a really fun day.

There was something for everyone - it wasn’t just a macho day out! The emphasis appeared to be on ‘inner drive’ and ‘discipline’ coupled with ‘team-support’, so there was no adverse outside pressure to accomplish the blatantly unattainable – unless you wanted to!
The same, seemingly impossible tasks threw up different challenges for different people in different ways – they just happened to be satisfyingly and euphorically ‘doable’! With expert, top-drawer trainers on hand, to whom safety appeared to be paramount, we always felt in good hands, yet able to have a really stretching and memorable experience. Brilliant!

Mel, Just to say thank you for an absolutely fabulous day. I have never had so many staff come to my office after to any INSET day to say “Thank You for organising yesterday”!
It is hard to motivate staff on any first day back after a holiday, but the six week break is the hardest, but all your staff were fantastic. The way you sorted out the groupings was superb.
All of our staff felt comfortable with the activities and any anxieties they had soon disappeared. They enjoyed what they did and found the activities very useful. Several of the ideas could most definitely be used with the children. So many staff commented that they found out so much about some staff that they had never even spoken to before and the atmosphere generally in school has benefited from the day.We will definitely use Closer To The Edge again, for the children and the staff. Thanks again.
Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for facilitating such a fantastic week of activities for us during our recent residential. The students are still buzzing from the experience and we all thought that you showed great patience and sensitivity when dealing with our pupils. Working with children with severe learning difficulties can be daunting and we were pleased that you showed the utmost respect for them which resulted in some fantastic achievements.......we will definitely be booking with you next year. more
